Second of all- thank you to all of the people who have sent us e-mail addresses! We're at 200 out of 375! I have pasted the list of the people we still need to reach out to at the end of this post.
We've had a couple of questions about what the $40 per person ticket price covers. There will be a full dinner, bar (probably beer and wine), and a DJ or band for dancing on Sunday night at the Lodge of Ironwoods. It won't be formal by any means, but it will be a really nice event and will give you the opportunity to get together and catch up with old friends and classmates. Ironwoods is a Leawood city park. That is good because it makes the venue rental cheap compared to private establishments- and we can bring all of our own vendors.The bad thing is we have to have a hosted bar. We cannot sell drinks, so that has to be added in to the ticket price. We realize that some of you may not drink alcohol, but please understand that we were looking at other locations that would have cost more than $40 a person without the bar package. There will be non-alcoholic options available.
There will also be other events throughout the weekend that everyone is welcome to attend. If we have enough extra funds, there may be a light picnic for families (and anyone who wants to come) at Deeana Rose and a light brunch with tours of the school, but that all depends on how many tickets we sell and what else we decide to do for the main event on Sunday night.
The $40 per person rate just covers the venue, dinner, the bar and a DJ for a minimum of 125 people. That is the lowest we could go without running the risk of coming up short. After talking to recent classes, the attendance for their reunions hovered around 100. From the feedback we've received so far, it seems like we'll be way above that, which is great!
